House Bill 1269, sponsored by District 29 Republican State Representative, Chet Pollert of Carrington, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, includes an emergency provision that required a two-thirds majority, which allows the funding to be made available when the bill is signed by the Governor Dalrymple.

The bill, which goes on to the State Senate for consideration, would fund part of the estimated $14 million expansion project to bring rural water to Woodworth and Streeter.

It would allow construction to start this spring.

Jamestown Mayor, Katie Andersen testified at a House Appropriation Committee hearing, that she could not support the bill, without language to facilitate territory transfers from rural water groups to cities.
