Jamestown  (CSi)  The Jamestown Downtown Association held the 3rd annual Rods & Hogs and Things that go VROOM –  Saturday.  Downtown Jamestown North Dakota was filled with the sights (and sounds) of Classic Cars, Tricked out Motorcycles, Maxed out Trucks, Stock Cars, Go Karts and more!  See contest winners, below.

Contest winners:

The Loudest Exhaust contest sponsored by S & S Exhaust was held at 3 pm with the $100 payout going to Brant Naze of Montpelier North Dakota with his 1976 Camaro RS.

Winner of the Balance Beam contest sponsored by Napa Auto Parts with a $100 payout, was Brian Kamlitz of Jamestown North Dakota using his 1968 Plymouth at a time of 23.4 seconds.

Prizes were awarded at 5 pm with the Best Bike Trophy and $500 Cash, sponsored by the Office Bar, going to Greg and Joan Paintner of Hawley Minnesota with their V8 Chopper.

The Best Truck Trophy and $500 Cash, sponsored by Wilhelm Chevy, Buick, GMC was awarded to Larry Zastoupil of Aberdeen South Dakota with his 1956 F100 Pickup with tagalongs.

And the Best Car Trophy and $500 Cash, sponsored by RM Stoudt Inc was presented to LeRoy Moser of Jamestown North Dakota with his 1936 Ford Street Rod.

The 2017 Rods & Hogs and Things that go VROOM! was also sponsored by Last Leg Taxi, First Community Credit Union, D & B Portables, Unison Bank and Jamestown Tourism.

Previously reported:  The event will start at 1 PM and continue until Midnight. New this year: The Loudest Exhaust contest sponsored by S & S Exhaust with a $100 payout. Balance Beam contest sponsored by Napa Auto Parts with a $100 payout. And the Jamestown Mystics will hold a fundraiser with Smoked Ribs by Jack McGregor and fries and Root Beer Floats available from 1 to 7. Italian Tacos will also have a food booth, along with our fine local restaurants. Tables will be available for dining.

The Christian Motorcycle club will be operating a kids fishing game, the Jamestown Downtown Association will have their Pig Races game, the Jamestown Drag Racing Association will operate a big boy trike road race.  and the Hanson Tires tire changing competitions are planned. All are free to play.

$500 cash prizes will be awarded at 5 pm for Best Bike, sponsored by the Office Bar, Best Truck, sponsored by RM Stoudt Inc and Best Car, sponsored by Don Wilhelm Chevy, Buick, GMC. Registration is open to everyone and forms can be found at the sponsor locations.

Live and provide music from 1 to 4 PM, dancers from the Top of the  Stairs will perform at 2 PM, Old Friends will play in front of Jonny B’s from 5 to 7 and a street dance and beer gardens will follow at 7:00 pm with the band Contention, sponsored by the Corner Bar.

Participation is anticipated from the following Motorsports clubs: James Valley Street Machines, Jamestown Classic Car Club, Christian Motorcycle Club, Individuals Motorcycle Club, Jamestown Speedway, Buffalo City Go Karting, Jamestown Drag Racing Association and James Valley Off Roaders There will also be displays by Don Wilhelm Chevy Buick GMC and RM Stoudt Inc.
