Buchanan  (CSi)    —  The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was called out just after 1-p.m.,  Sunday to 8394 21st Street Southeast, rural Buchanan,  where a controlled burn had spread.

Rural Fire Chief Ben Maulding says a fire in a burn pit got into brush but did not spread to a structure.

Five Rural Fire Department trucks and 10 firefighters were on the scene about an hour and half.

The fire danger level was high in Stutsman County on Sunday.
