Audrey R. Gohner, 83, Montpelier, ND died late Monday evening May 8, 2017 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Audrey Kono was born January 8, 1934 at Spring Valley, WI, the daughter of C. Watson Kono and Rose (Schafer) Kono. During her early years, Audrey lived on a farm south of Gladstone, ND where she attended a rural school. In 1942 she moved with her family into Gladstone where she graduated from High School in 1952. In 1955 she graduated from St. Alexius School of Nursing in Bismarck, ND as a Registered Nurse.

She and Paul Gohner were married November 10, 1956 in Alfred, ND. They made their home on a farm north of Jud, ND in Sharlow Township. In the spring of 1966, they moved to Vancouver, WA where he worked at a lumber mill. The family returned to North Dakota in the fall of 1967 and farmed NE of Alfred. In 1973, they bought a farm south of Montpelier and lived there until October 2009, when they moved into Montpelier, ND. Following the death of her husband on January 15, 2012 she has continued to reside in Montpelier.

She attended the Church of God Seventh-Day in Alfred, ND. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting, embroidering, sewing blanket for the animal shelter, mowing the yard and making Thanksgiving Dinner. Her favorite places to visit were Medora, the Black Hills, Reno, NV and Long Beach, Washington.

Audrey is survived by 2 sons, Doug (Lynette), Don (Cindy), all of Montpelier, ND; 3 daughters, Sheila (Steve) Marsalek, Jamestown, ND; Shirley Gohner, Jamestown, ND; Sharlene (Mikel) Kendrick, Dickinson, ND; 6 grandchildren, Jessica (Dave) Amling; Courtney (Dana) Jacobson; Trevor Gohner; Jonathon Kendrick; Lacey (Logan) Urness; Garrett Kendrick; 5 great grandchildren, Kaiden Jacobson and MacKayla Jacobson, Hayleigh Kendrick, Brike Schmicker, and Amelia Amling; 1 brother, Robert (Doris) Kono, Sioux Falls, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 sister, Carol Frenzel.

Funeral Service – 3:00 PM Saturday May 13, 2017 at the Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

Burial – Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND
