The stop was made after it was learned that a white minivan had been stolen from a residential garage, in Jamestown.

In the future the restoration process will include the judge’s chamber that will become a board room for community meetings, along with the restored courtroom, the installation of an elevator, and a restored treasurer’s office.
She said, that the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse Committee also serves as a fundraising committee to raise dollars for future restorations, adding that state dollars will not be coming, due to state budget cutbacks.
During the hours the courthouse is open, the Site Supervisor, Steve Reidburn will be on hand along with volunteers from time to time to answer any questions and handle reservations.
Barb added that after Labor Day the 1883 Stutsman Courthouse will also be available for tours, and for community events.

The program reminds residents that when the 1883 Stutsman County Courhouse was threatened with demolition, Mary Young passionately advocated to save and restore the building. Faced with Staunch opposition, Mary established, “Project ’83,” a group of Jamestown citizens dedicated to saving the building, creating awareness and raising funds for its restoration.
Mary passed away on November 14, 2015. In January 2016, the State Historical Society Board honored her legacy by naming the historic Clerk of Court’s Office, the “Mary Faith Young Room,” as a gesture of memorial and remembrance to her legacy and tireless efforts to save the courthouse.
The efforts are continuing.

Fargo (CSi) On Tuesday a North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper responded to a call of a reckless driver traveling west on Highway 46 south of Kathryn. The trooper clocked the Honda SUV at 103 miles per hour.
51 year old Thomas Wentz, Jr., of Grand Forks, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under suspension. He was also cited for speeding and open container.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man with a history of drunken driving has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a crash that left two people dead and two people injured.
South Central District Judge Sonna Anderson says 29-year-old Riley Plenty Chief, of Cannon Ball, could be sent back to prison for up to 20 years if he violates probation after his release.
The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/2rQu9Fh) that Plenty Chief pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal vehicular homicide and two counts of criminal vehicular injury.
Authorities say Plenty Chief was drunk when he caused a head-on crash south of Mandan last year that that killed 55-year-old Glen Todd Fox and 36-year-old Nation End of Horn, both of Fort Yates.
Plenty Chief was convicted twice of drunken driving in 2011.
WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A special prosecutor has decided not to file charges against a long-time West Fargo police lieutenant accused of giving some confidential information to a relative.
Lt. Greg Warren was placed on administrative leave earlier this month while authorities investigated the matter. An assistant state’s attorney in Barnes County reviewed the investigation by a state crime bureau agent and decided against any charges, clearing Warren to return to work.
The lieutenant is a 42-year veteran of the department who heads the investigations division. Warren was accused of providing some information about a vehicle to his brother, an insurance investigator.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A court order issued by a North Dakota judge has saved about 70 horses from slaughter.
The Stark County Sheriff’s Office says it seized neglected and abused horses and some cattle from the ranch near Gladstone earlier this week. At least 30 of the horses are ready to give birth.
Authorities began an investigation into the case last month. Officials say the animals were to be sold to a feed lot and then sent to slaughter in Canada. However, after negotiations, a judge decided the horses would be turned over to an animal rescue group.
Alison Smith, Founder of Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue in Mandan, says the deal was finalized Tuesday night.
The case remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — State education officials say more high schools students in North Dakota are doing advanced coursework.
State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler says the number of students taking Advance Placement exams in a variety of subject increased 31 percent this school year compared to the previous year. Baesler says about 2,500 students took an AP exam this school year.
The superintendent credits a Department of Public Instruction initiative backed by the state Legislature in 2015. The initiative offered any North Dakota high school senior, including those in non-public schools or home school settings, to take at least one Advanced Placement exam in English, math, science or computer science at no cost.
The AP tests translate to college credit if a student decides to go that route.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A foundation has transferred a nearly $700,000 endowment trust to support maintenance at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn.
The state took over the center’s operations from the financially troubled foundation two years ago.
Former foundation board member and state Parks Director Mark Zimmerman called the announcement of the transfer on Wednesday “disingenuous.” He says much of the $700,000 endowment trust transferred to the state was borrowed from the foundation’s own endowment fund and had to be repaid.
And he says the foundation only was able to repay the money because of a financial gift from a benefactor’s estate.
Foundation president David Borlaug says the foundation did borrow $300,000 from the endowment fund and it was repaid from the benefactor’s gift. But he says nothing was done inappropriately.

LONDON (AP) — Ariana Grande’s management team says she has suspended her world tour through June 5 in the wake of the deadly bombing at her concert in Manchester, England. The pop star is on a European leg of her “Dangerous Woman Tour” and canceled shows scheduled for Thursday and Friday at the 02 Arena in London. The suspended tour means she also will miss a May 28 stop in Antwerp, Belgium, two concerts in Lodz, Poland, and shows in Frankfurt, Germany, and Zurich, Switzerland.
LONDON (AP) — British investigators are exploring whether the bomber that killed 22 people at a Manchester concert hall was part of a larger terror cell responsible for the deadly attacks in Brussels and Paris last year. They are also investigating whether Salman Abedi could have been inspired by his father, who was allegedly part of a Libyan militant group linked to al-Qaida.
CAIRO (AP) — The father of the British-Libyan bomber behind the Manchester bombing that killed 22 people during an Ariana Grande concert denied his son’s links to the bombing and said that he was preparing for a visit to Saudi to perform a pilgrimage. The 51-year-old Ramadan Abedi also known as Abu Ismail spoke to the Associated Press over the phone from Tripoli. He said his other son, Ismail, 22, has been arrested.
BRUSSELS (AP) — President Donald Trump has retired for the evening to the U.S. ambassador’s residence in Brussels.
