Jamestown (CSi)  The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to a semi-trailer fire about 11:45-a.m., Wednesday, at the I-94 rest area, west of Jamestown.

The semitrailer was still moving, and the driver then pulled over at the I-94 rest area.

The fire was contained to one set of tires and was extinguished by the driver before firefighters arrived

Rural Fire Department Assistant Chief, Joel Guthmiller says the fire was caused by an axle or a blown tire. The driver extinguished the fire and then had the trailer towed,

Three trucks and six firefighters were on the scene about 35 minutes.

Then at about 12:30-p.m., Wednesday  Rural Fire Fighters responded to a grass fire started by equipment failure on a power pole near Montpelier.

The powerline fell to the ground and started the grass fire.

The fire was contained to an area less than 1 acre.

Otter Tail Power Company explains that 92 Montpelier and Millarton residents without power for over an hour on Wednesday.
