Timothy M. Graven, 67, Santa Ana, CA, passed away May 10, 2017 at his home of natural causes.

Tim was born January 5, 1950 to Thomas and Donelle (Hubbard) Graven in Jamestown. He attended grade school at St. John’s Academy and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1968. Tim went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from North Dakota State University. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Tim moved to South California where he went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Throughout his career, Tim worked for several companies in various middle management positions including Fluor, Ford Aerospace and Loral Companies. Later in his career, he worked long-term temporary jobs in the accounting field until his deteriorating eyesight forced his retirement.

Tim enjoyed a solitary lifestyle and found joy in simple things. He loved working with his hands and took tremendous pride in keeping his vehicles clean and running properly. Tim would often ride his motorcycle to the Lake Elsinore area and other scenic areas of California. He was very handy and was often seen tinkering in his garage fixing anything that was broken. He was known for visiting Harley Davidson stores wherever he went and did all of the maintenance on his bike. He enjoyed playing backgammon and often engaged in heated battles with his family and friends. Tim was known for playing “tour guide” for his family and friends that would visit Southern California. He also made sure to keep in touch with his high school and college friends.

Tim is survived by his mother, Donelle Graven, Bismarck, ND; his brothers, Rick, Detroit Lakes, MN, Dan (Laura), St. Cloud, MN; his sister, Joan (Brian) Backes, Menoken, ND; his nieces, Stephanie (Toby) Differding, Horace, ND, Chris (Curt) Kinzler, Jamestown, ND, and Angie Anderson, Minot; his nephew, Kevin (Jessica), Williston, ND; his great-nieces Hailee, Hannah and Callee Differding, Tia Anderson, Amara Graven; his great-nephews Patrick Kinzler, Corbin Graven and Tyrell Anderson; his aunt, Mary Tscharner; his uncle, Gordon Hubbard as well as several cousins.

Tim is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father, Thomas Graven, his brother, Stephen Graven, and his great-nephew Steven Graven.

Friends and family are invited to have dinner at the KC Club immediately following the burial.

Visitation: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown, North Dakota.

Interment: 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown.
