The patrol says Bethany Elijah died at the scene Thursday morning on a gravel road east of town.
The patrol says the driver, a 75-year-old Lisbon man, was travelling east and navigating an uphill curve when he encountered the girl, who was travelling west.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Bismarck police are investigating after someone with a handgun robbed a clinic pharmacy.
Authorities say there were no injuries in the Sunday armed robbery, and the clinic went into lockdown for a short period. Bismarck police say an employee reported being robbed of pharmaceuticals.
Officials say the suspect wore a tan sweatshirt with its hood up, sunglasses and either a mask or what appeared to be blood-stained bandages. Police say the suspect’s voice sounded female, and the person was last spotted going to the parking lot.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a Minnesota man has been arrested for allegedly setting off a large firework in a North Dakota bar while it was full of people.
The Grand Forks Police Department says the incident occurred early Sunday morning. Police say the 20-year-old Crookston man has been preliminarily charged with offenses including endangering by fire or explosion and criminal mischief.
Officials say the firework caused moderate damage to the inside of the bar and several customers were hit with flying glass. North Dakota online court records don’t yet list charges against the man in the case.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A clinic in Bismarck is offering treatments with ketamine, a drug growing in popularity around the country for help with depression and pain management.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that Jackie Materi, a certified registered nurse anesthetist and the operator of the Ketamine Care Clinic, administers the drug through a vein, with six infusions over a two-week period.
There are still concerns about widespread use of the drug for depression treatments because the length of the treatment’s effectiveness varies from person to person and continued use can lead to negative side effects.
An American Psychiatric Association report published this year says only about 370 people with depression have taken the drug in clinical trials.
Ketamine is known as hallucinogenic party drug Special K, but it’s widely found in operating rooms and hospitals for anesthesia.
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Federal officials say a punishing drought that stretches across much of the U.S. Northern Plains is expected to cause farmers to lose 64 million bushels of wheat production this year.
The Billings Gazette reports that northeast Montana is experiencing the worst drought in the country, with similar dry conditions in neighboring North Dakota and South Dakota.
Federal agriculture officials have labeled as poor or very poor more than half of Montana’s 2017 crops of spring wheat, lentils and durum. Combined, the three crops were valued at more than $600 million in 2016.
In the small town of Nashua on the edge of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation a scant 1.2 inches of rain have been recorded since April 1.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Officials say at least 268 rural wildfires have been reported in North Dakota this year, which has put stress on volunteer firefighters.
Director of Homeland Security Greg Wilz tells the Bismarck Tribune that state may consider the possibility of stipends for rural volunteer firefighters who are sometimes responding to multiple blazes daily.
Severely dry conditions have increased the risk of wildfires in much of the state.
Wilz says more than half of the wildfires this year have occurred in July. He says the top causes of the fires reported are from farming equipment and lightning strikes.

MLB-NEWS-YANKEES-REFSNYDER
SEATTLE (AP) — Rob Refsnyder was traded from the New York Yankees to the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday for first baseman Ryan McBroom.
Designated for assignment on Wednesday, the 26-year-old Refsnyder appeared in 94 games over three seasons with the Yankees, hitting .241 with two home runs and 17 RBIs. He played first base, second base, left field and right field.
McBroom, 25, hit .243 with 19 doubles, 12 homers and 54 RBIs this year at Double-A New Hampshire. He was assigned to Double-A Trenton.
New York also put second baseman Starlin Castro back on the 10-day disabled list because of a strained right hamstring, a move retroactive to Saturday, and recalled infielder-outfielder Tyler Wade from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
First baseman Ji-Man Choi, who also was designated for assignment Wednesday, was sent outright to the RailRiders.
KUNDLA OBIT…
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — John Kundla, the Hall of Fame coach who led the Minneapolis Lakers to five NBA championships, died Sunday. He was 101. Son Jim Kundla said his father died at an assisted living facility in Northeast Minneapolis that he has called home for years. Kundla coached George Mikan and the Lakers in the 1940s and 1950s, helping them become the NBA’s first dynasty. He went 423-302 before retiring at the age of 42 and went on to coach his alma mater, the University of Minnesota.
NASCAR…
NDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Kasey Kahne survived a crash-marred Brickyard 400 on Sunday for his first NASCAR Cup victory in three years.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver won under caution in the race that took more than six hours to complete, finally finishing in fading light after 167 laps and double overtime. Brad Keselowski finished second.
It was a wild day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. — driving the two fastest cars — going out in a crash with 49 laps to go. That was only a prelude the nutty final 20 laps that included five crashes, two of which brought out red flags.
Busch looked as if he would make history as the first driver to win three consecutive Brickyards when he led the first 71 laps — and 87 overall. But when Truex’s car slid up the track, both cars hit the wall.
That opened the door for Kahne, who had struggled all season. And as the crashes happened behind, Kahne overcame muscle cramps to hold on for his 18th career victory and first since Atlanta in 2014.
GOLF-BRITISH OPEN
SOUTHPORT, England (AP) — Jordan Spieth heads into next month’s PGA Championship with a chance for the very rare career Grand Slam after claiming the third leg with Sunday’s victory at the British Open.
Spieth, a 23-year-old Texan, used a remarkable string of holes on the back nine to hold off Matt Kuchar (KOO’-chur) and win the third major championship of his career. He won by three shots — the same margin he started the day with — after a final round 1-under 69. But it was a roller-coaster finish at Royal Birkdale.
He played the last five holes in 5 under par.
Spieth was behind by a shot after 13 holes when he went birdie-eagle-birdie-birdie to snatch the tournament away from Kuchar. The sizzling stretch of play came after he made an improbable bogey from the driving range after taking an unplayable penalty shot. His tee shot came to rest in a steep, grassy due. He took a penalty for an unplayable lie and hit his third shot from the adjacent driving range and managed to make a bogey.
Marathon Classic…
SYLVANIA, Ohio — In-Kyung Kim used a sizzling start on Sunday to emerge from the pack and win the Marathon Classic going away at Sylvania, Ohio.
Kim carded an 8-under-par 63 in the final round at Highland Meadows to turn the tournament into a runaway, winning by four strokes over American Lexi Thompson. Kim finished at 21-under 263.
In notching her second victory of the season and sixth of her career, Kim birdied six of the first nine holes en route to shooting 28 on the front side. She added a pair of birdies in her bogey-free round to join countrywoman So Yeon Ryu as the second multiple winner of the LPGA Tour this year.
CYCLING-TOUR DE FRANCE
PARIS (AP) — Defending champion Chris Froome has won his fourth and most challenging Tour de France title. The Kenyan-born British rider finished 54 seconds ahead of Colombian Rigoberto Uran overall, the smallest margin of his wins.
This was the third straight win for the Team Sky rider. His first in 2013 came the year after former teammate Bradley Wiggins sparked off a mini-era of British dominance.
Frenchman Romain Bardet (roh-MAN’ bahr-DAY’), the runner-up last year, placed 2 minutes, 20 seconds behind in third place, denying Spaniard Mikel Landa — Froome’s teammate — a podium spot by just one second. Italian Fabio Aru finished fifth.
As per tradition, the 21st stage was reserved for sprinters and mostly a procession for Froome and the other overall leaders. Dutchman Dylan Groenewegen won the final stage.
SOC-GOLD CUP-JAMAICA-MEXICO
PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Kemar Lawrence scored on an exquisite 24-yard free kick in the 88th minute, and Jamaica advanced to the CONCACAF Gold Cup final with a 1-0 upset victory over Mexico Sunday night.
Jamaica will face the U.S. Wednesday night at Santa Clara, California.
Jamaica goalkeeper Andre Blake kept the game scoreless with a series of saves while Mexico dominated possession despite missing most its top players.
Lawrence’s late strike froze Mexico goalkeeper Jesus Corona. The ball rose past a five-man wall and curled into the left corner just below the bar for the New York Red Bulls defender’s third career international goal and first in three years.
The Reggae Boyz have reached the final for the second straight Gold Cup tournament, but this stunning upset at the Rose Bowl ranks among their biggest international wins.

Nearly 20 others in the rig were taken to the hospital in dire condition. Police say they’re looking at a case of human trafficking, and ICE acting Director Thomas Homan says authorities are looking at more people to prosecute.

SPINDALE, N.C. (AP) — A member of the World of Faith Fellowship says when he moved to the mother church in North Carolina at age 18, church leaders took his passport and money, and he was forced to work 15 hours a day, usually for no pay. Andre Oliveira of Brazil says “They trafficked us up here.” An investigation by the Associated Press found that the church used its two branches in Brazil to siphon a steady flow of young laborers, who came to the U.S. on student and tourist visas.
