Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger says more details in the investigation are not expected to be released until Wednesday this week, as the investigation continues, and the names of the victims are pending notification of family members.
Edinger tells The Associated Press a weapon was recovered at the scene.
Edinger says there is no threat to the public, but he would not elaborate.
He says, autopsies are being performed in search of the facts, including establishing a time line.
Jamestown (CSi) Authorities continue to investigate a call on Sunday evening about 5:49-p.m., where two adults were discovered deceased in their home on 4th Street NE in Jamestown. Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger says, a person stopped by the home and discovered the male and female dead.
A three month old child was found in the home unharmed, and was taken into protective custody. Edinger said no other information was being released Sunday evening, including names, or if foul play was involved, as the investigation by Jamestown Police, the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and the BCI continues.
Edinger says more information is expected to be released this morning.

Jamestown (CSi) Starting Monday August 7, 2017 4th Street Northeast between 13th and 14th Avenue Northeast is closed to through traffic due to water main replacement.
The closure will continue for about two weeks.
Motorists should use extreme caution in this area and use alternate routes as necessary.
Jamestown (CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a three vehicle crash that occurred about 3 miles north of North of Jamestown on Highway 52, about 2:18 -p.m. on Sunday.
Sgt. Tom Herzig reports that 38 year old Ernest Castillo, of Gackle was traveling northbound when he attempted to turn west onto 31st Street Southeast. Castillo failed to yield and was struck by a Chevy Colorado driven by Clay Kamoni of Jamestown.
A Kenworth driven by Curt Nelson of Warren, Minnesota was also sideswiped by the Kamoni vehicle. He was not injured.
Castillo and Kamoni were injured in the incident.
Castillo’s passenger 35 year old Arin Kendall of Jamestown was not injured.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Area Ambulance Service, and Jamestown Rescue assisted at the scene.
Enderlin (CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a Valley City man was injured Sunday about 5:09 p.m., on Highway 46 at Enderlin.
The report says 57 year old Scott Paulson of Valley City was operating his motorcycle eastbound. 65 year old Rose Johnson of Nome was northbound on a side street in her Equinox before stopping at a stop sign at highway 46.
Johnson turned west and failed to yield to Paulson. Paulson’s motorcycle struck the left front fender of Johnson’s vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest on the eastbound lane of the interchange. Paulson was using a helmet at the time of the crash. He suffered non life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a Fargo hospital.
Johnson and her passenger, 37 year old Kari Johnson of Nome were not injured.
Lisbon Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police is warning residents of a convicted sex offender living in Jamestown.
Michael Allen Jans now resides at 517 4th Street NW, Jamestown, ND
He is a 28 year old white male five feet six inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with hazel eyes, and brown hair.
He has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee on the North Dakota Attorney General’s Office.
Offense: Gross Sexual Imposition when he was 20 years old involving three 14 year old girls, in 2009.
Conviction Date: May 2010, Burleigh County, ND District Court.
Dispostion: 20 years, 10 years suspended, 109 days credit, five years supervised probation.
Offense: Sexual Assault when he was 18 years old concerning intercourse with a 15 year old girl, on approximately four occasions.
Conviction Date: March 2008, Burleigh County, ND, District Court.
Disposition: One year, 335 days, suspended. 30 days credit, two years supervised probation.
Jans is currently on probation with North Dakota Parole and probation.
He is on GPS monitoring.
Jans is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court.

Jamestown (CSi) Three Jamestown girls invited guests to a birthday party, and requested that gifts be in the nature of items for animals at the James River Humane Society.
On Friday’s Wayne Byers Show, shelter board member Jay Nitchke said with the support of their mother, Brandi Mueller, the girls Lydia, Addy, and Ivy collected the gifts, which were brought to the Jamestown shelter.
Also on our show, Jay added that Applebee’s in Jamestown will donate a portion of the proceeds from those dining there on Monday August 21, 2017 between 3-p.m., to 10-p.m., to the James River Humane Society. Jay said a flyer being distributed through town must be presented to your server, during “Dining to Donate,” at Jamestown’s Applebee’s.
Jay also pointed out that Amazon.com has a promotion where when orders are placed through eligible AmazonSmile purchases customers can click on a link that indicates donations from orders place to animal shelter, with the James River Humane Society on the list.

Jamestown (CSi) The Great Plains Food Bank July 28, 2017 Jamestown distribution provided 17,450 pounds of food. Agency Relations Manager for the Eastern portion of North Dakota, Andrea Block says around 223 households benefited.
Food was given out to 263 children, 100 seniors and 326 adults, bringing the total number of individuals to 689 that participated in the food distribution.
She says, their pantry partner the Jamestown Salvation Army was on hand to assist.
The Community Action Food Pantry has also been there to help in the past.
Valley City (CSi) Valley City Barnes County Health Director Theresa Will reports that Valley City is one of six North Dakota communities to received funding to help prevent opioid abuse.
She adds, North Dakota Department of Human Services funding will be used to develop support and education to decrease or prevent opioid use. The grant provides $180,000 per year, up to five years, saying a portion of the grant can be used to hire an employee to lead this work.
She says the funds will be used to provide medication assisted treatment, increasing the understanding and use of naloxone, support and recovery services for those returning to our community after receiving treatment or coming out of jail and provide education regarding alternative pain therapies.
Enderlin (CSi) The north Dakota Highway Patrol reports a 71 year old Sheldon Man suffered non-life threatening injury when the Chevrolet pickup he was driving was rear-ended on highway 46 at Enderlin, ND by a 32 year old female driver from out of state.
The crash happened about 8:15 a.m.
The Chevrolet was in the process of turning north off highway 46 at the time of the crash. After impact, the driver of the pickup drove onto a nearby parking lot. The occupants of the Lincoln briefly exited to assess damage to their vehicle. When the female driver realized her vehicle was not disabled, she ordered her passenger back into the vehicle and they fled the scene for a short distance westbound on hwy 46. The Lincoln continued southbound for one mile on hwy 32. The driver parked at a row of trees on the west side of hwy 32 before both occupants fled into a corn field.
Deputies from Cass, Stutsman and Ransom County assisted with the search. K-9’s from the Highway Patrol and Stutsman County tracked the suspects for approximately one mile before loosing scent at a highway. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol
Hillsboro (CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a rollover Sunday about 1-a.m., led to the death of a Grand Forks man.
The report says a pickup pulling a trailer north on I- 29 10 miles north of Hillsboro lost control and entered the median, where the trailer became disconnected, and rolled with the pickup coming to rest on its top.
The 73 year-old Grand Forks man, identified as Harold Weivoda, a passenger died at the scene. The 59 year-old man driving the pickup William Sand of Grafton, was air lifted to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Both occupants were wearing seatbelts
The Traill County Sheriff’s Office, and Hillsboro Fire, Rescue assisted at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say an 81-year-old Dickinson man died when his SUV was struck from the rear by a Minnesota motorist.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened Friday night on Interstate 94 east of Dickinson.
The patrol says both vehicles were westbound when an Honda Accord driven by 62-year-old David Draves of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, struck 81-year-old Norman Elhardt’s Chevy Blazer from behind, causing the SUV to enter the median and roll.
Elhardt is from, Dickinson.
The Honda also entered the median and came to a stop. Draves was not hurt. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Police say two men wanted in a fatal shooting in Tulsa have been arrested, one in Missouri and one in North Dakota.
Police said Sunday that 24-year-old Maurice Sanders was arrested Saturday in Bismarck, North Dakota, and 27-year-old Justin Brooks was arrested Friday in Kansas City, Missouri.
The two and 23-year-old Cedric Warrior are charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 1 shooting death of 39-year-old David Jones.
Warrior was arrested shortly after the shooting. Court records do not list an attorney for any of the suspects.
Police say Jones was dead, sitting in the driver’s seat of a sport utility vehicle after it crashed into the bedroom of an east Tulsa home.
An 8-year-old boy and his mother were sleeping in the room, but were not injured.
Bismarck (CSi) – Gov. Doug Burgum Friday ordered the reinstatement of McKenzie County Sheriff Gary Schwartzenberger to the position of sheriff, as recommended by Special Commissioner Karen Klein.
On Nov. 23, 2016, then-Gov. Jack Dalrymple placed Schwartzenberger on interim suspension upon the recommendation of Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem after the McKenzie County Commission voted in favor of a petition for removal. Klein found no substantiated ground for removal of Schwartzenberger and recommended he be returned to the elected office of sheriff.
Schwartzenberger’s reinstatement is effective immediately.
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — A Devils Lake engineer says the city’s century-old VFW building that presents accessibility issues for many older and disabled veterans is in its initial stage to be remodeled, with money being the key factor to move it forward.
City engineer Mike Grafsgaard tells the Devils Lake Journal that VFW members have been the chief source of funding to improve the building.
Grafsgaard says a remodel to make the building fully compliant with ADA standards could cost anywhere from $70,000 to $150,000, depending on the scope of the project.
Grafsgaard says if funding efforts are successful the next step would be to plan out the construction process of the project.
The VFW building is considered a landmark in downtown Devils Lake, and it’s been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1989.
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Minot residents who want to own a pet that’s currently on the city’s list of banned animals may soon be able to push for a change in ordinance.
The Minot Daily News reports that the City Council on Wednesday supported the creation of two ad hoc committees that would review the list and consider how to address wild, nuisance animals.
The decision came after Minot resident Marshal Platz requested that the North Dakota city allow nonvenomous snakes as pets. Platz is a member of the U.S. Association of Reptile Keepers.
Animals currently banned within city limits include crocodiles, felines other than a domestic house cat, goats, horses, mules and rabbits.
Some exceptions are made for people with disabilities who have animals for service, assistance or emotional support.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota student is trying to raise money to build a youth sports complex and recreation area in Cannon Ball on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that Dakota Eagle is an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes and grew up in Cannon Ball, a small community located on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
Eagle took her proposal to district officials and it developed into a plan to create the Cannon Ball Youth Sports Complex.
A GoFundMe page for the project. As of Friday, the project raised nearly 17,700.
Eagle says she started a community service project to raise funds to replace the existing basketball court and build a volleyball court after recognizing the need for more for more places for youth to play sports.

UNDATED (AP) — The Dolphins have landed another quarterback.
A person familiar with the situation says free agent quarterback Jay Cutler has agreed to terms on a contract with Miami.
Cutler is expected to compete with Matt Moore for the starting job while Ryan Tannehill remains out with a left knee injury that could sideline him for the entire season.
Dolphins coach Adam Gase was offensive coordinator for the Bears when Cutler had a career-best quarterback rating with them in 2015. The 34-year-old Cutler didn’t receive much interest once he left Chicago following last season.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (AP) — Martin Truex Jr. held off Matt Kenseth with a late gamble to win the Monster Energy Cup race at Watkins Glen.
Truex stayed on the course during the closing laps while others either went to the pits or eventually ran out of fuel. He assumed the lead and outdueled Kenseth on the final lap in winning for the fourth time this season.
Brad Keselowski had a big lead but was forced to pit with three laps to go.
Rookie Daniel Suarez was third, followed by Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer. Pole-sitter Kyle Busch was seventh.

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Hideki Matsuyama (mat-soo-YAH’-mah) fired a 9-under 61 to erase a two-shot deficit and take the PGA’s Bridgestone Invitational at Akron, Ohio.
Matsuyama birdied his last three holes and tied the course record held by Jose Maria Olazabal (oh-lah-THAH’-bul), Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia. It was the lowest final round in four decades at Firestone Country Club.
Matsuyama’s 16 under total was five strokes better than Zach Johnson. Charley Hoffman was third at minus-10.

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) — I.M. Kim has earned her first major title by capturing the Women’s British Open by two shots over Jodi Ewart Shadoff.
Kim shot a 1-under 71 and finished 18 under in her third career victory, all coming in the last two months. The win comes five years after she missed a 14-inch putt that would have given her a victory at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
Shadoff put pressure on Kim by closing with a 64. Michelle Wie (wee) shot a 66 to end up in a third-place tie with Caroline Masson and Georgia Hall.

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the Trump administration has yet to decide how to respond to Russia’s move to expel hundreds of American diplomats, but plans to deliver a response to Moscow by Sept. 1. A day after sitting down in the Philippines with Russia’s top diplomat, Tillerson says he asked “clarifying questions” about the Kremlin’s retaliation announced last month following new sanctions passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump.
VALENCIA, Venezuela (AP) — President Nicolas Maduro says that half of the 20 anti-government fighters who attacked a Venezuelan army base over the weekend got away. Maduro says troops killed two of the intruders Sunday, another fighter was wounded and seven were captured. Maduro says he’ll ask for “the maximum penalty for those who participated in this terrorist attack.”
BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (AP) — Vice President Mike Pence is calling a news report suggesting he is laying the groundwork for a possible presidential run “disgraceful and offensive.” Pence says his team is instead focusing efforts on advancing the agenda of President Donald Trump to see him re-elected in 2020. The vice president’s rebuttal comes after The New York Times detailed efforts of several Republicans looking ahead to 2020, calling it a “shadow campaign.”
