Jamestown (CSi) The “Dan Wilhelm Memorial Car and Bike Show,” and 5K Run/Walk ,will be held at Don Wilhelm, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC on Business Loop West, in Jamestown Sat Sept 23, 2017. It commemorates the late Dan Wilhelm. Funds raised from the 5K Run/Walk will be raised to support the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.

The goal is to raise over $22,000 for the third year in a row.

The Car and Bike Show is organized by the James Valley Street Machines Car Club is from 10-a.m. to 5-p.m. Car/Bike Set Up, 8-a.m. to 10-a.m., with donations going to the Huntington’s Society. Register before September 15, at $10 after, $15.

The Shed, museum in Warroad, Minnesota, is sending a 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible and a Tiger Gold 1965 Pontiac GTO.

Dan Wilhelm was a co-owner of Wilhelm Chevrolet Buick GMC and lost his life to Huntington’s Disease at the age of 55, on November 11, 2012. All proceeds from the Run/Walk will go to Huntington’s Disease Society of America.

The benefit 5K Run/Walk, will have, “day-of” registration, from 7-a.m., to 8-a.m., with the run from 8-a.m., to 10-a.m., starting at the dealership, on Business Loop West in Jamestown. Registration, is now Adults $25, Youth 12 and under $20, Seniors 60 and older $20.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Huntington’s Disease Society for research for the cure, and administrative needs for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.

Run/Walk Prizes will be given out for the Fastest Male Time, Fastest Female Time, and Largest Team.

Several local businesses have donated money toward Huntington’s Disease Society of America.

A vote for a favorite vehicle is a free will donation, with the proceeds going to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.

There will be inflatable games, ice cream, car-related vendors and music from the R&C School of Rock. Also, there will be raffles for a mini-bike and NFL game tickets.

A cure is yet to be found, as Huntington’s disease is an inherited brain disorder that results in the progressive loss of mental faculties and physical control.

An individual who has been diagnosed with Huntington’s disease will eventually die from pneumonia, heart failure or other complications.
