Court officials and Justices, including Chief Justice Gerald W. VandeWalle of the ND Supreme Court were on hand. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Zach Johnson, Sergeant, Air Guard deployed to the United Arab Emirates.

Remarks were given by North Dakota Governor, Doug Burgum, with additional remarks and the presentation of the Gavel by Cass County State’s Attorney Birch Burdick.
The Oath of Office was given by North Dakota Supreme Court Chief Justice Gerald VandeWalle.
The presentation of the Robe was by Honorable Peter Hoff, Retired Judge from Minnesota, assisted by Greg Key, and Bijanca Clark.

The public ceremony was followed by a reception, at the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse.
Governor Doug Burgum appointed Clark to the court this year, following being a prosecutor in Fargo since 2006. She worked as an Assistant County Attorney in Otter Tail County, Minnesota.
She’s the first woman judge in the Southeast Judicial District.
Judge Clark was nominated following the retirement of Judge John Greenwood.
