Jamestown (CSi) – Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Executive, Becky Thatcher-Keller was an invited guest to hear President Trump address a gathering, in Mandan on September 6, 2017, and points out heavy security for the president’s visit, speaking on his plan to cut income and estate taxes.
On Friday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 she said, her invitation came from the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce.
Her vantage point was seven rows from the stage, on a very warm sunny North Dakota day, as she even got sunburned, out in the open.
She said security for the event was extremely tight, as the president was joined by his daughter Ivanka along with other dignitaries, and North Dakota’s congressional delegation. She said it was good that Trump invited the entire North Dakota congressional delegation to join him on stage.
She added that those in attendance presented their invitations and had to show ID, and woman had their purses checked.
Security included a helicopter airborne over the site, and snipers were posed on nearby roof tops.
She said that Trump’s tax cut plans, if adopted and approved by congress are positive, and will make a huge difference in small businesses, bottom lines.
The backdrop for President Donald Trump’s visit to North Dakota was a refinery in Mandan, that processes up to 74,000 barrels a day of the state’s crude oil into gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel and more.
The Andeavor facility in Mandan is the largest of two refineries that the company — until recently known as Tesoro — operates in the state.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The trial for a Denver woman accused of shooting at law enforcement officers during a protest against the Dakota Access oil pipeline in North Dakota has been moved from Bismarck to Fargo.
Red Fawn Fallis has pleaded not guilty in federal court to civil disorder, discharge of a firearm in relation to a felony crime of violence, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
Authorities allege Fallis fired a gun three times at officers during a confrontation last October near a protest camp in Morton County.
In granting a request by defense attorneys for a change of venue, U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland said the move is “warranted under the circumstances.” The trial is scheduled to begin on Dec. 5 in Fargo.
