Ramona Gruchalla, 68, of Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. James Basilica in Jamestown. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Williams Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown immediately after the Mass.

Ramona Ann was born August 17, 1940 in Valley City, ND the daughter of Jacob and Margaret (Hoffart) Weber. Ramona grew up and attended school in the Eckelson, ND area. She graduated from Eckelson High School in 1967.

In 1967 she married the love of her life, Terrance R. Gruchalla. In their marriage they had 3 daughters, Tami (Kevin) Severance, Jamestown, Dawn (Rod) Irion, Runaway Bay, TX, and April (Shawn) Lange, Eldridge, ND.

She worked at various jobs in Jamestown, including managing the American Legion Club and managing Safari Lanes. She also worked at Jamestown Hospital, Pamida, Hi-Acres Manor, and lastly for Easter Seals.

Ramona loved the Dallas Cowboys and was an avid fan of Elvis. She will always be remembered for taking care of everyone else including all her softball and bowling buddies. She was able to enjoy life with her family. Ramona always wanted to have three generations on her softball and bowling teams, which she was able to do along with her husband “coaching.” Ramona was an avid bowler, being inducted into the Jamestown Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame. Ramona was blessed being able to bowl with her daughters and her husband by her side at the 2004 National Bowling Tournament in Billings, MT. She liked to hand stitch quilts, cook, bake, play pinochle, golf, and spend time with her family. She will always be remembered for her cooking.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Terry Gruchalla and her 3 daughters, Tami (Kevin) Severance, Jamestown, Dawn (Rod) Irion, Runaway Bay, TX, and April (Shawn) Lange, Eldridge, ND; 6 grandchildren, Tyler (Codi) Hintz, Brynne (Brock) Burkett, Levi (Allie) Hintz, Jadee Lange, Brooke Irion and Cody Lange; 6 great-grandchildren with one arriving Monday, September 25th; sister, Mary (Gary) Gover, LaGrande, OR; brother, Raymond (Joan) Weber, Lake Havasu, AZ; and her little brothers, John and Joe Weber, Eckelson, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Margaret Weber; brother, Wallace Weber; her mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Evelyn Gruchalla; and brother-in-law, Leonard “Rocky” Gruchalla Jr.
