from CSiNewsNOW reporter:  Just before noon on Friday, concrete was being poured for a backyard patio north of a home near the river.  The truck was backing up between the home and river when the bank gave way,  and the truck rolled into the river.

The Aggregate Industries truck came to rest along the south bank of the James River.  A witness said the driver was able to exit the truck and get to the river bank.  Emergency personnel assisted the driver up the bank.

Initial reports indicate the driver suffered leg injuries and was transported by Jamestown Area Ambulance Service, to Jamestown Regional Medical Center.  From the 4pm Police Report:  He was later taken by Sanford Air Ambulance and transferred to Fargo for surgery to repair injuries to one of his legs.

His name and condition were not immediately available.

The truck is reported to have approximately 4 yards of concrete remaining. Options to remove the truck from the river on Saturday are being planned.

The Jamestown City Fire Department, was called to the scene for hazmat control.

Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther said there was no leakage of hazardous liquids from the truck.  The river flow is low at this time.  The City shut of the inlet and outlet to the Oxbow portion of the river about 2-p.m., Friday.

He says Stutsman County Emergency Management has been notified, who will contact the State of North Dakota about the incident for follow ups to the clean up effort.

He adds, that two City Fire Department Units and eight firefighters were on the scene.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Health Department says a truck spilled more than 4,600 gallons of oilfield wastewater in Williston.

The agency says the produced water spill was the result of an accident on Wednesday by a truck operated by Wind River Oil Services.

Produced water is a mixture of saltwater and oil that can contain drilling chemicals.

State health officials say all but about 200 gallons of the spill had been recovered by Friday afternoon. They say an undetermined amount flowed off the accident site into a drainage and wetland.

Health Department officials say they are monitoring the cleanup effort.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Former tech executive Doug Burgum’s Silicon Valley-styled approach to leading North Dakota government has sparked conflicts with longtime Republican power brokers.

The former Microsoft vice president replaced his office desk chair with a wellness ball, frequently wears jeans and assigned subordinates corporate titles. But a looming conflict extends far beyond style.

Lawmakers and the governor may ask the state Supreme Court to sort out their ongoing dispute over vetoes.

Such friction has been rare in North Dakota, so overwhelmingly Republican that Donald Trump carried it by 36 points last year. At the Capitol, the GOP controls more than 80 percent of both chambers.

House Majority Leader Al Carlson said the veto lawsuit might have been avoided with better communication. Burgum says his door is always open.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A modeling tool is helping the city of Minot continue to recover from the devastating 2011 Souris River flood and work toward preventing a similar disaster in the future.

The  the Souris River Decision Support Tool is one of the projects in Minot’s National Resilience Program.

Steve Wolsfeld is the vice president of CDM Smith, the city’s resilience consultant. He provided an overview of the tool during the council’s committee meeting Tuesday.

The tool can offer insights into potential benefits related to such things as property buyouts and the lowering of reservoirs ahead of expected high water flows. It’s expected to be finalized in two or three weeks.

About $450,000 of the $599,000 that was set aside by the city has been spent on the tool.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The company behind the proposed Keystone XL pipeline is no longer pursuing another pipeline to carry oil from northwestern North Dakota into Canada.

TransCanada Corp. on Thursday notified the U.S. State Department that it will withdraw its application for the Upland Pipeline. The project was linked to a proposed pipeline project in Canada that TransCanada is no longer pursuing.

The company last spring had asked the U.S. State Department to pause its review of the Upland Pipeline. The project also would have needed approval from North Dakota regulators.

The pipeline was to originate about 15 miles southwest of Williston and transport up to 300,000 barrels of crude per day north of the border.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The top Democrat in the House says the Trump administration’s decision allowing more employers to opt out of providing no-cost birth control to women is despicable. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says in a statement: “This administration’s contempt for women reaches a new low with this appalling decision to enable employers and health plans to deny women basic coverage for contraception.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is expected to plead guilty to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy rather than face trial for leaving his Afghanistan post. Two individuals familiar with the case tell The Associated Press that Bergdahl will submit the plea later this month, then sentencing would start. LAS VEGAS (AP) — It began as a routine call for Engine 11 from the Clark County Fire Department. But as the crew headed back from a minor car crash, hundreds of hysterical people swarmed the fire truck, amid the sound of automatic gunfire. Brian Emery and his colleagues ended up being the first on-duty emergency personnel to respond to Sunday night’s deadly shooting. They treated about 30 people — some who were crushed in the panic, but mostly gunshot victims. They put the wounded into any vehicles passing by.
