Reuben Obenauer, 92, of Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully Thursday, November 9, 2017.

Reuben was born October 11, 1925 in Gackle, ND, the son of Emanuel & Dorothy Obenauer. He graduated from Medina School. He was proud to join the Navy in 1943 (WWII) and serve on a Destroyer in the Pacific. He married his best friend Elaine Wolsky November 14, 1948 in Seattle, Washington. Reuben & Elaine lived in Jamestown, ND. Reuben worked for the Elks Club and later NW Bell Telephone Company retiring after 34 years. Reuben was blessed with a second family’ when he moved to ROSEDALE in 2011.

Reuben was a lifetime member of the Elks, VFW, Eagles, American Legion, Telephone Pioneers and CWA. Reuben was a charter member of Atonement Lutheran Church and a member of New Hope Free Lutheran Church. Reuben enjoyed serving on committee’s throughout his life. With Elaine by his side they enjoyed playing bingo, camping, traveling, going for rides, and visiting with family & friends.

Reuben is survived by two daughters, Patty Peterson (Kevin Lueloff), Jamestown and Pam (Bob) Shirley, Rigby, Idaho: three grandchildren & great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and all his siblings.

Funeral service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Eddy Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Bernston, officiating.

Visitation: 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, November 13 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens.
