Bismarck, ND (NDNG)- About 15 ND Army Ntl Guard soldiers assigned to the Bismarck based 957th Engineer Company unit have received an alert notification for possible mobilization.

The decision to mobilize these Soldiers has not yet occurred, but if a decision is rendered to mobilize them, an official Department of the Army order will be published.

If mobilized, the Soldiers will be assigned to the combined joint operational area-Kuwait sometime during summer of 2019. These Soldiers specialize in combat engineering bridging operations and will assist in training Iraqi forces.

“I have the upmost confidence in the ability of these engineer Soldiers and their technical skills in supporting the U.S. Army’s training mission, said Maj. Gen. Alan S. Dohrmann, North Dakota adjutant general. “The superb continual support of our employers, family and friends will be instrumental in helping them achieve mission success.”

 

About 200 North Dakota Guard Soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment are currently serving in the Washington, D.C. area, while approximately 120 Happy Hooligan Airmen are deployed overseas within the Central Command area. About 29 Soldiers with the Fargo-based 191st Military Police Company and four Soldiers with Bismarck-based Det. 7, C Company, 2nd Battalion, 245th Aviation Regiment are on alert for possible mobilization at this time.
