Lorrell Brovold, age 95, of Valley City, ND, died Wednesday, November 29th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on December 4th at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Schuldt Mathias Funeral Home Chapel and one hour before the service at the church on Monday morning.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City, ND.

Gladys Lorrell Pritchard, the daughter of James and Irene (Lemna) Pritchard, was born December 7, 1921 on the family farm near Verona, ND.

Lorrell was the second oldest of 8 children.

Lorrell grew up and attended school in the Verona, ND area and graduated from Verona High School in 1939.

On June 20, 1942, she married Warren Brovold in Verona, ND.

The couple lived in Verona for a time before moving to Valley City in 1943.

Mr. Brovold died on March 24, 1952.

She was employed at the hospital in Harvey, ND, Austin, MN and returned to Mercy Hospital in Valley City.

Lorrell worked for 20 years at the Credit Bureau in Valley City, Motor Vehicle and Valley City State University.

Lorrell lived independently in her home in Valley City for 73 years, until recently moving to the Sheyenne Care Center in September, 2017. Lorrell was the extremely proud of her family.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, walking with her friend Agnes, sewing, embroidery and visiting with her friends and family.

She was a care giver to many people.

Lorrell is survived by her four children, Patricia (John) Weir, Mountain Lake, MN, Bob (Barb) Brovold, Kulm, ND, Gary (Sally) Brovold, Bismarck, ND and Ron (Kris) Brovold, Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren; 6 Great-grandchildren; one brother, Willis (Mary) Pritchard, Oakes, ND; one sister in law, Joanne Pithey, Valley City, ND;

Lorrell was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Warren and a grandson Travis Brovold.
