(NDHP)  The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a Stanley,  man who died in a crash with a dump truck in Mountrail County.

95 year old Clifford Bakke,  died from injuries in the 11:38 a.m. crash on U.S. Highway 2 about half a mile west of Stanley. Bakke was traveling west when the 2016 Ford F150 he was driving began to fishtail into the median but was able to steer the truck back onto the roadway, the patrol said.

As the Ford entered the roadway facing north, a 1993 Kenworth dump truck  traveling behind the Ford struck the passenger side, causing it to spin into the ditch.

Bakke was wearing a seat belt with the airbag deployed. He was transported by Stanley Ambulance Service to Mountrail County Health Center for treatment of injuries where he died.

The Kenworth driver, 35 year old Tucker Hovda, of Stanley, was not injured.

He was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
