Bismarck  (CSi)  The National Weather Service says, a strong winter storm is expected to impact parts of the region on Wednesday and Thursday.

Right now, the brunt of the storm will likely affect eastern South Dakota as well as central and northeast Minnesota. However, the storm may produce enough snow and blowing snow across parts of eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota to cause some travel impacts.

There will likely be some snow accumulations along with 25 to 30 mph winds.
But the location of the heaviest snowfall and resulting blowing
snow are in question.

Falling temperatures during the day Wednesday will lead to dangerous wind chills to 35 below zero Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Thereafter, a clipper system is forecast to produce accumulating
snow and another surge of arctic air Friday. The frigid
temperatures will continue through the weekend. Travelers and
those participating in outdoor activities will need to prepare for
the possibility of hazardous weather.
