Janet Mittleider, 77, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Thursday morning, January 11, 2018 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

Janet was born April 26, 1940, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Walter and Martha (Roemmich) Hust. Janet married Elton Mittleider on June 19, 1960 in Tappen. She attended school in Tappen, beauty school in Jamestown and earned her GED as an adult. She worked at Krieger’s Grocery, Jeri Cox Salon and the Beauty Nook. She also worked at Leevers Super Valu for many years until its closing.  She enjoyed baking, embroidery and her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren, Bri and Cole. She was genuinely interested in the lives of others and was known for her handwritten notes that many people looked forward to receiving, sometimes weekly.  Janet was charitable with St. Jude Children’s Research holding a special place in her heart for several decades.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Ave Maria Village and JRMC Home Health/Hospice for their care and support, especially the “A” team.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Tina Williams, Jamestown; Geri (Moira) Mittleider, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Bri (Daniel) Williams, Westminster, CO; and Cole Williams, Jamestown; brothers, Gary (Cheri) Hust and Patrick (Lori) Hust, of Fargo, ND; sisters, Shirley Dunham, Kent, WA and Linda Marsh, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Wade Williams.

The family prefers memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org; Ave Maria Village, 501 19th Street, NE, Jamestown; or Jamestown Regional Medical Center Hospice, 2422, 20th Street, SW, Jamestown.

Family will receive guests: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Inurnment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
