LISBON, N.D. (AP) – A judge has ruled that the case against a Fort Ransom woman accused in the death of her infant son should proceed.
29-year-old Jodi Lindvall was originally charged with murder and child abuse for the death of 22-month-old Bentley Lindvall, who died on September 22, 2012.
Prosecutors say an autopsy determined the boy had been physically abused and died of a head injury. Lindvall told authorities her son hit his head while she was struggling to change his diaper.
Southeast Judicial District Judge Jay Schmitz ruled there’s probable cause for the murder case, but dismissed child abuse charges. The arraignment for Lindvall is scheduled March 6.

LISBON, N.D. (AP Feb 8, 2013) – A judge is deciding whether there’s enough evidence to proceed with a murder trial in the case of a Fort Ransom woman accused in the death of her toddler son.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jodi Lindvall had a preliminary hearing Thursday on charges of murder and child abuse in the Sept. 22 death of 22-month-old Bentley Lindvall. Judge Jay Schmitz will issue a ruling later on whether the case moves forward.
Prosecutors say an autopsy determined the boy had been physically abused and died of a head injury. Court documents indicate Lindvall told authorities her son hit his head while she was struggling to change his diaper, and that she also had seen her live-in boyfriend shake the boy. The boyfriend has not been charged.
Lindvall could face life in prison if convicted.
