John “Jack” Dahl, 88, Gackle, ND died late Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.
Jack Reed Dahl was born January 15, 1930 in Fargo, ND the son of CM and Eleanor (Reed) Dahl.
He received his education at Chaffee Public School and NDAC earning his BS Degree in Animal Science. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954.
Jack and Dorothy “Dottie” Davis were married February 23, 1952 in Fargo, ND. They made their home SW of Gackle where they owned and operated the Dahl Land & Cattle Co. with their 3 sons.
He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, American Legion, involved with the Town and Country Day Livestock Show, President of ND Stockman’s Association, National Livestock & Meat Board, President of the National Cattleman’s Association, Chairman of “Farmer Mac” and many other agriculture related organizations.
Jack is survived by his wife, Dottie; 4 children, Dan, Streeter, ND; Jeff and John (JD), both of Gackle, ND; and Margo (Mickey) Spring, Fargo, ND; 5 grandchildren, Samuel, Jordan (Kendra), Nathan, Brooke, Jasmyne; and 4 great-grandchildren, Hadley, Adrienne, Maximus and Azalea.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Martha and Kay; and daughter-in-law, Dorothy.
Funeral Service- 2:00PM Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND, Rev. Rick Steele, officiating
Prayer Service- 7:00 PM Monday at the Church
Visitation- 9:00 AM – 5:00 pm @ the Haut Funeral Home in Gackle
Interment- Gackle Cemetery, Gackle, ND
