Catherine Stroh, 98, of Jamestown, ND, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 31, 2018, at Eventide, Jamestown.

Catherine Thelma Harr was born February 11, 1919, in Woodworth, ND, the daughter of Jacob J. and Anna Maria (Oswald) Harr. She attended school in Goldwin and Paris Townships near Woodworth. Catherine and Wilbert Stroh were united in marriage on May 9th at Sacred Heath Catholic Church, Sanborn. Catherine owned the Sanborn Caf for four years and waitressed at Max’s Caf in Valley City for three years. She was also employed by the North Dakota State Hospital for ten years.

Catherine loved to sew and play cards and enjoyed her garden, canning vegetables and pickles. She was a life member of Sacred Heath Catholic Church where she enjoyed being the rosary leader and belonged to Guild #2. Catherine was also sight manager of the Sanborn Seniors for over four years and a 4-H leader for many years. She wore many aprons over the years and loved seeing her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, relatives, friends, and neighbors. There was always coffee, treats, and lots of visiting time.

Catherine is survived by three children, Judy Midthun, Sharon Spetz, and Gayle (Wayne) Day; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Patta Stroh; and sister, Leora Thompason.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbert Stroh on May 4, 2001; three sons, baby Stroh, Leslie Stroh, and Harold Stroh; two sons-in-law, Roger Spetz and Marshal Midthun; three sisters, Clara Schmitz, Della Ruddy, Nelda Harr; and three brothers, Norman Harr, Donald Harr, and Oliver Harr.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sanborn, ND with Father Joe Barrett officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Rosary: 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown with a Vigil Service to follow.

Interment: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sanborn, later in the spring.
