Edna Lachenmeier, 90, Jamestown, ND went to be with her heavenly father on February 17, 2018 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.

Edna Strehle was born May 5, 1927 SW of Medina, ND, the daughter of Emmanuel and Barbara ((Oberlander) Strehle. She attended the country school in Newbury Township where she received her elementary education.

Edna married John (Johnnie) Lachenmeier on November 6, 1945 in Streeter, ND. They made their home on various farms in the Streeter/Medina area including nearly 40 years on their farm NE of Streeter. They retired on a farmstead South of Cleveland, ND. Johnnie passed away November 15, 2004. Edna resided there until the spring of 2009 when she moved to Jamestown. She entered the Ava Maria in the summer of 2016.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Streeter, ND for many years and had been active with the United Methodist Women, and also taught Sunday School for many years. She later became a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Jamestown, ND. Edna kept a daily diary for many years and loved to work on scrap book and photo albums

She is survived by 3 children, Delly (Peter) Revier, Mahnomen, MN; Dwight (Rhoda) Lachenmeier, Medina, ND; Larry (Debbie) Lachenmeier, Medina, ND; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Florence Heier, and Genny Opp, both of Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 5 brothers, including 2 in infancy and 1 sister.
