Jamestown  (CSi)  The Jamestown Public School Board Monday evening, learned that the urgent care and primary care near-site, clinic for the JPS District will open on March 19th this year.

From Salt Lake City President and CEO of Medallus Medical Dr. Rachot Vacharothone, said the clinic will be located at 723 First Avenue South, (formally Rent A Center), in Jamestown, next to the UPS Store,  and will provide urgent care, primary care and occupational medicine services for the public from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings.

The  school board’s Health Insurance Committee recommended the agreement with Medallus Medical in March of last year.  Committee  member Robert Toso said the community has been also been asking for a similar clinic.

The average cost of the on site clinic will be $131 per visit. The average time with the patient is 20 minutes compared to 12 minutes in a standard clinic setting.

In other business, the School Board approved a cooperative agreement with Barnes County North School District for students to participate in gymnastics with Jamestown School District.
