Washington  (CSi) Sen John Hoeven this week offered remarks on the US Senate floor in honor of Team USA’s victory in women’s hockey at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Hoeven specifically recognized the contributions of two North Dakota natives, Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando, twin sisters from Grand Forks and alumnae of the University of North Dakota. In the last game against Canada, Monique brought the game to a tie in the final period, with Jocelyne scoring the game-winning goal during the overtime shootout.

“The achievements of Team USA stand as a powerful example of hard work, perseverance and collaboration,” Hoeven said. “North Dakota is proud to be represented among the talented members of this team by two athletes, the Lamoureux twins, Jocelyne and Monique. We congratulate Team USA on their historic victory and thank them for their dedication and tireless effort on behalf of our nation.”
