Carol Othelea Lean, 71, Bismarck, North Dakota passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Jamestown, North Dakota surrounded by family.

Carol was born they 10th child of 12 born to Andrew and Isadora Elizabeth (Prellwitz) Lean.  She was born December 11, 1946 at Union Hospital, Mayville, North Dakota.  She was raised education in Galesburg, North Dakota.  She started school in September 1952 in Galesburg Public.  Carol graduated from Clifford-Galesburg High School in 1964.

Carol worked lived and worked in Moorhead, MN as a cook and laundry person for a number of years before going to work for the State of North Dakota at the North Dakota State School for the Deaf in Devils Lake, ND.  She moved to West Fargo, ND in where she worked for Red Owl Grocery in West Fargo, ND and for Country Kitchen Restaurant.

She moved to Bismarck, ND with her sister in November 1976.  She worked for eight years at the Kirk Motor Inn, seven years for 1st Steps Daycare as an infant room supervisor.  She was also a receptionist for 15 years for the Bismarck Tribune retiring in the summer of 2016.

Carol is survived by two brothers, Edward Lean, Jamestown, ND; Alton (Ione) Lean, Stewart, MN; two sisters, Lorraine Schumacher, Jamestown, ND, June Carlson, Waukesha, WI; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two brothers, five sisters and five brothers-in-laws.

Memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, May 11, 2018 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.  Burial will be in Elm River Lutheran Cemetery, Galesburg, ND later that afternoon.  Lunch will be held at Elm River Lutheran Church after the burial.
