Jamestown  (Chamber)  The May Business After Hours was hosted by Rough Rider Industries, who partnered with the James River Correctional Center, located at 2521 Circle Drive in Jamestown.  It was a very informative event for those attending, as they were able to view the wide variety of products that the residents make in both the Jamestown and Bismarck locations for the prison.  These include things from all types of furniture, metal products, signs, clothing, and so much more.  The Rough Rider staff was on hand to provide information about the various products, along with some of the residents who actually manage or work in the Jamestown facility.  Melissia Kleven, JRCC Industry Manager, and Rick Gardner, Rough Rider Industries Director, were on hand to information about the products produced in both locations and to share the vision of the program.

Chad Pringle, Jamestown Correctional Center Warden, was on hand to greet the visitors and to have his staff provide tours of the correctional center.  There are many different opportunities that provide the residents the ability to learn or enhance their skills that help make them more productive once they have served their time.  There were some good conversations happening during this event about opportunities for local employers to utilize these skills by hiring the residents once they are released.

Those who attended enjoyed the wonderful hospitality and food provided and were able to take the tours of the correctional center and see the equipment and some of the products.  For more information on the products that are available to government, non-profit and through retail locations, please contact them at 701-328-6163 or 701-253-3627.

The Chamber Ambassadors and Young Professionals of Jamestown, along with other chamber member businesses attended this event. The $50 chamber gift certificate door prize was won by Monica Hieb of First Community Credit Union.  The business drawn for the business chamber bucks was Excavation Services and Aggregate, but no one was present from that business, so that drawing goes up to $325.00 for the next Business After Hours.
