Update:

Valley City (CSi)  The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, a 64 year old Sanborn man has died as a result of driving off the road Monday Morning about 8:25-a.m., and into Hobart Lake, three miles east of Sanborn.

The report says Terry Swenson of Sanborn was operating his 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck, westbound on Barnes County Road 22, and for an unknown reason the pickup drove off the right side of the road and into Hobart Lake, where it submerged.

The Valley City Dive Team rescued him from the submerged vehicle, and he was transported by Valley City Ambulance to CHI Mercy Hospital in Valley City.

Swenson died Tuesday morning as a result of the crash, which remain under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were:  The Sanborn Fire Department, Valley City Fire Department and Dive Team, and Barnes County Sheriff’s Office.

The report says, an unidentified male driver was westbound on Barnes County Road 22, and for an unknown reason the pickup drove off the right side of the road and into Hobart Lake, and submerged.

The Valley City Dive Team rescued the driver from the submerged vehicle.

He was taken to CHI Mercy Hospital in Valley City.

His name is expected to be released on Tuesday.

The crash remains under investigation.
