HANKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say three people have died in an interstate crash in southeastern North Dakota.

The Highway Patrol says a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old West Fargo boy was headed south on I-29 in Richland County Sunday when it veered off the road. The teen lost control, crossed the median and struck a northbound car driven by a 24-year-old Fargo woman.

KFGO-AM reports that driver, identified as Flor Avila, her 5-year-old daughter Kayleen and a 45-year-old passenger in the teen’s vehicle, James Radtke of West Fargo, died at the scene of the crash near Hankinson.

A 4-year-old boy in the woman’s vehicle and the teen driver were injured and transported to Essentia Health.
