Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police reports a 25 year old man was arrested Saturday morning following a brief chase, that started shortly after midninght Saturday.
Sgt. Shane Gallagher, reports, an officer attempted to stop Levi Guthmiller’s car when it was in the 200 block of Fourth Avenue Southwest.
WDAY T.V. reports, as the pursuit started, police pursued Guthermiller’s vehicle as the car sped a few mile outside of Jamestown, to 79th Avenue, Southeast, where he surrendered.
Gallagher reports no injuries or property damage.

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Fire Department was called out to a house fire at 9:20-a.m., Friday, at 1008 7th Avenue Southeast.

Jamestown City Fire Chief, Jim Reuther says, fire damage was inflicted to the upper floor of the home which receive heat and smoke damage, with water damage to the upper and lower floors, with smoke damage to the lower floor.
No other structures were involved.
One of the home’s occupants was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by Jamestown Area Ambulance service, and was, not, transported for further medical assistance.
He says, The Buffalo Valley Red Cross Chapter assisted at the scene.
The three displaced occupants declined services, having accommodations.
Jamestown Police and the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene with traffic control.
He adds the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Six city fire units and 23 fire fighters cleared the scene t 10:52 a.m.

He has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Attorney General’s Risk Level Committee.
Offense: Possession of Material-Sexual Contact by Minor, concerning a video involving a adolescent male.
Conviction Date: September, 2017 in Cass County, ND District Court.
Dispostion: One year, one day, three days credit concurrent.
Offense: Luring Minor by Computer, attempted to pressure a 13 year old male to send nude photos while in a sexual act.
Conviction Date: September 2017 in Cass County, ND District Court.
Disposition: One year, one day, three days credit, two years supervised probation: concurrent.
Asmann is currently on probation with North Dakota Probation and Parole.
He is currently on GPS Monitoring.
Asmann is not currently wanted by police and has served the sentence imposed by the court.

DRAYTON, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a motorcycle driver who led North Dakota troopers on a four-county chase on Interstate 29 was arrested when he ran out of gas in Drayton.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the 21-year-old suspect fled when a trooper attempted to stop him early Sunday morning for speeding through Fargo. Troopers attempted two other traffic stops, near Hillsboro and Thompson.
The patrol says the driver reached a top speed of 147 mph. He was arrested about 1:30 a.m. and booked into the Walsh County Jail.
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — An appeals court has rejected a former Minot city attorney’s claim that she was fired in 2014 in retaliation for a whistleblower complaint over sexual harassment.
U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland in February 2017 dismissed Colleen Auer’s complaint for lack of evidence, and she appealed to 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The Minot Daily News reports that court has upheld Hovland’s ruling.
Auer was employed by the city from March 31, 2014, until her firing on May 2, 2015. Auer alleged she was fired for reporting sex-based harassment.
The appeals court concluded Auer’s allegations were “unreasonable.”
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota is ninth on the list of top soybean-producing states, but the escalating U.S.-China trade war is still a big issue.
Soybeans have grown in popularity in North Dakota in recent years and now equal the size of the state’s staple spring wheat crop. And North Dakota Trade Office Director Simon Wilson says China is the No. 1 export market for North Dakota soybeans.
Soybean Growers Association President Joe Ericson says farmers are “in the crosshairs right now” due the uncertainty of tariff-related market disruptions.
Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring farms soybeans and has a background in international soybean marketing. He acknowledges there’s a lot of anxiety about the trade war but cautions that things are likely to change. He says, “we don’t need to be drama queens about this.”
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Transportation Department officials are delaying a roundabout project planned in north Bismarck because of safety issues.
Burleigh County Engineer Marcus Hall tells The Bismarck Tribune that a Transportation Department engineer sent an email on July 13 expressing opposition to current plans for the $2.5 million project. The concerns came about a week before the final design was due.
The county and the Transportation Department have been working on the project design since February. Hall says the proposed roundabout has right-run slip lanes, which provide an additional point of contact.
Halls says engineers believe safety issues arise with the addition of more contact points.
Hall says there’s not enough time for a redesign before the final plans are due July 23.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Bismarck police veteran has been hired as the department’s new chief.
The Bismarck Tribune reports the City Commission voted unanimously Friday to hire Deputy Chief Dave Draovitch.
The 53-year-old Draovitch was one of three finalists to fill the position left by Chief Dan Donlin, who is retiring,
Draovitch is a Minot native. He has been with the Bismarck Police Department since 1989 and has been a deputy chief since 2013.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A company that runs corn ethanol plants in North Dakota is looking into using barley for biofuel and a feed product for commercial fisheries.
The Bismarck Tribune reports the North Dakota Industrial Commission approved a more than $83,000 grant to Midwest AgEnergy Group to research the new markets. CEO Jeff Zueger says commercial fish food is a higher value market than cattle feed, and that the company is always looking for best and additional uses at its Jamestown and Underwood plants.
Zueger says the concept for the barley biofuel was developed and pilot tested by Montana Microbial Products in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Midwest AgEnergy’s project would study the feasibility and conduct initial engineering and design work for scaling production to a commercial level.

— Drew Butera hit a tiebreaking, three-run inside-the-park home run in the seventh inning to give the Royals a 5-3 win over the Twins and their first three-game sweep in a year. Butera circled the bases after center fielder Jake Cave failed in his attempt to make a diving catch. Winning pitcher Brad Keller struck out a career-high eight in seven-plus innings, allowing three runs and three hits.
— Former Phillie Freddy Galvis had his second straight three-hit game and Tyson Ross ended a seven-start winless streak as the Padres rolled to a 10-2 win at Philadelphia in Game 1 of a day-night doubleheader. Travis Jankowski and Wil Myers each had two RBIs as part of San Diego’s 15-hit attack. The Padres reached Nick Pivetta for six runs – four earned – and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
— The Phillies took the nightcap as Vince Velazquez fired two-hit back while striking out seven over seven innings of a 5-0 shutout of the Padres. Odubel (oh-DOO’-bul) Herrara’s fourth-inning homer put the Phils ahead before Rhys Hoskins put the game out of reach with a three-run blast in the seventh. The doubleheader split leads the Phillies with a one-game lead over Atlanta in the NL East.
— Max Scherzer worked six innings in his first game since starting for the National League in the All-Star game, helping the Nationals knock off the Braves, 6-2. Scherzer struck out seven and allowed eight hits but just two runs. Bryce Harper hit a solo homer and an RBI single after scoring on Anthony Rendon’s two-run triple.
— The Red Sox cruised to a 9-1 win at Detroit as Chris Sale struck out nine over six scoreless innings. Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a three-run homer to help Sale improve to 11-4. Andrew Benintendi provided a two-run triple and Eduardo Nunez had two RBIs in the Red Sox’s 14th victory in 16 games.
— Boston’s lead in the AL East is up to five games over the Yankees after the Bombers and Mets were rained out in the Bronx. The game has been rescheduled for Aug. 13.
— Mike Trout slammed his 26th homer and was one of six different Angels to collect at least two RBIs in a 14-5 dismantling of the Astros. Kole Calhoun was 2-for-3 with a three-run blast for Los Angeles, which also had homers from Justin Upton and Ian Kinsler. Andrew Heaney allowed one run and four hits over six innings as the Angels trimmed Houston’s lead in the AL West to five games over Seattle.
— Ryon Healy collected a career-high six RBIs with a pair of three-run homers as the Mariners thumped the White Sox, 8-2. Healy went deep in a five-run first and added an eighth-inning blast to give him 20 home runs and 53 RBIs this season. Marco Gonzales won his fourth consecutive start, allowing two runs and four hits in 6 1/3 innings.
— Jeurys Familia (jeh-REES fah-MEEL’-yuh) got a victory in his Oakland debut as Marcus Semien scored from second base on Matt Chapman’s infield chopper in the 10th inning of the Athletics’ 6-5 win against the Giants. Familia worked two scoreless innings for Oakland, one day after being acquired from the Mets. Khris Davis and Matt Olson each homered twice to help the A’s stay three games behind Seattle for the second AL wild card.
— Cleveland still leads the AL Central by 9 1/2 games after Rougned Odor (ROOG’-nehd oh-DOHR’) drove in three runs and Ryan Rua hit a two-run homer in the Rangers’ 5-0 shutout of the Indians. Yovani Gallardo (yoh-VAH’-nee gy-AHR’-doh) and three relievers combined on a five-hitter after the Indians outscored Texas 25-11 in the first two games of the series. Gallardo allowed three hits and four walks in six innings, his longest scoreless outing since August 2015.
— The Pirates earned their ninth consecutive win as Corey Dickerson and Starling Marte hit consecutive homers off Matt Harvey in a 9-2 drubbing of the Reds. Dickerson homered for the fifth time in four games and went 4-for-5 and finished the series with 21 total bases, helping the Pirates outscore Cincinnati 27-5 in the series. Gregory Polanco and Sean Rodriguez also went deep to back Ivan Nova, who held the Reds to two runs over 6 2/3s.
— Yangervis Solarte (yahn-HEHR’-vihs soh-LAHR’-tay) hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning to cap the Blue Jays’ rally from a three-run deficit in a 5-4 win over the Orioles. Toronto trailed 4-1 before Randal Grichuk’s (GRIH’-chuhks) two-run homer off Brad Brach in the eighth. The Jays completed a three-game sweep and improved to 9-1 versus Baltimore this year.
— The Rays pulled out a stunning 6-4 win over the Marlins on pinch-hitter Daniel Robertson’s walk-off grand slam with two out in the ninth. Kyle Barraclough allowed three straight hits in the ninth, including Ji-Man Choi’s RBI single. Tampa Bay right-hander Chris Archer allowed four runs but had 13 strikeouts in six innings.

UNDATED (AP) — Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard (SIHN’-dur-gahrd) is headed back to the disabled list after contracting hand-foot-and-mouth disease.
The team figures it’s likely Syndergaard caught the contagious virus when he made an appearance at a baseball camp for kids last Thursday during the All-Star break. Mets manager Mickey Callaway said that probably explains why Syndergaard weakened and his velocity decreased during Friday night’s victory at Yankee Stadium.
Syndergaard just returned from the disabled list July 13 after being sidelined for more than six weeks with a strained ligament in his right index finger. He is 6-1 with a 2.89 ERA in 13 starts this year.
— Nationals All-Star closer Sean Doolittle doesn’t have a timetable for his return as he tries to overcome soreness in his left foot. Doolittle hasn’t pitched in a game since July 6 due to toe inflammation. He threw off a mound Friday and had an MRI the following day that revealed a stress reaction, comparable to a bone bruise. Doolittle is 3-2 with a 1.45 ERA and has converted 22 of 23 save chances.
— The Nats shipped outfielder Brian Goodwin to the Royals for minor league pitcher Jacob Condra-Bogan. Goodwin is batting .200 with three homers and 12 RBIs in 48 games for the Nationals this season.
NASCAR-NEW HAMPSHIRE…
LOUDON, N.H. (AP) — Kevin Harvick used a bump-and-run on Kyle Busch with seven laps left to win NASCAR’s Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Harvick aimed his Ford bumper at the right side of Busch’s Toyota and nudged the leader out of the way for the move of the race.
Harvick raced to his sixth victory of the season and went 1-2 in some order with Busch for the ninth time this year. Busch has five wins and Martin Truex Jr. still has four after finishing fourth.
Giants ink No. 2 pick Barkley
UNDATED (AP) — The New York Giants have signed rookie first-round pick running back Saquon (SAY’-kwahn) Barkley to a contract.
The No. 2 overall selection from Penn State rushed for 3,843 yards and 43 touchdowns in three seasons with the Nittany Lions. He had 5,538 total yards on 791 touches for averages of 7.0 yards per play and 145.7 yards per game.

— Titans linebacker Kevin Dodd was placed on the “did not report” list. Quarterbacks, rookies and injured players reported ahead of the rest of the team coming Wednesday. Linebacker Rashaan Evans, the team’s top draft pick, was out with a “non-football illness.”
— The Vikings say offensive line coach Tony Sparano died Sunday at the age of 56. The team did not give a cause of death. Sparano began his NFL coaching career in 1999 and had stints as a head coach with the Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders. He was the Dolphins’ head coach from 2008-11 and went 29-32. He went 11-5 and won the AFC East in his first season with the Dolphins.
HOCKENHEIM, Germany (AP) — Lewis Hamilton has regained the Formula One championship lead in unexpected and dramatic fashion, winning the German Grand Prix after Sebastian Vettel crashed while leading near the end.
Heavy rain played havoc late on at the track as Vettel misjudged a basic entry into a turn and slid over the gravel into the barriers with 15 laps to go. Hamilton was fourth at the time of the crash, having started from 14th on the grid because of a hydraulic problem in qualifying.
