Dr. Polly Peterson, who was named University of Jamestown President in February of 2018, will be officially inaugurated on Thursday, September 27. The event is open to the public.

Peterson was tapped to succeed President Robert Badal after he retired in February 2018. She is the first female president in the University’s 134-year history.

Peterson holds a Ph.D. in higher education – institutional analysis from North Dakota State University and an M.B.A. from Regis University. She is a 1989 graduate of the University of Jamestown with degrees in accounting and business administration.

Campus tours will run from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., followed by a Chapel service in the Voorhees Chapel at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon in Knight Hall. The Inauguration Ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. in the Harold Newman Arena, followed by a reception, social and dinner.
