Lisbon (NDHP) – On Friday August 24th at approximately 11:50pm a North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle for an equipment violation near Lisbon. The suspect fled in their vehicle and lead law enforcement on a chase that covered approximately thirty miles. The pursuit came to an end seven miles north of Ft. Ransom when the suspect attempted to further elude law enforcement by driving through a soybean field and their vehicle became disabled. The driver was then taken into custody without incident and transported to the Barnes County Jail.
Nicholas Hanson, of Lisbon ND, is the suspect in this incident and was charged with; fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an imitation controlled substance with intent to deliver (C Felony).
