Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police report the driver of a car that went front end first into a street construction hole on Wednesday September 5th was not injured.
The incident happened at First Avenue North and Thirteenth Street.
The report says 62 year old Dale Quenzer, was operating a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on the 1200 block of First Avenue North.
He attempted to turn left onto Thirteenth Street Northwest when the car went into the construction pit.
At the time of the incident, workers with Scherbenske Inc. were pulling equipment out of the hole, temporarily removing barricades.
Quenzer told police that he failed to see the hole after going around various construction trailers on First Avenue.
The report says no signal person was at the site, to point out that area of the road was closed.
Quenzer was wearing a seat belt, and was able to get out of the car, not being hurt.
Minor damage was sustained to the auto’s undercarriage, which was towed from the scene
The report indicated no citations issued.
