Delores was born in Dickinson on June 25, 1927; the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (nee: Fritz) Ihly.  She attended St. Joseph’s grade school and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1945.  She married Joseph Klein on June 15, 1948.  They had two daughters with whom they spent many memorable hours fishing and camping at Lake Sakakawea.  Delores and Joe enjoyed traveling to and attending State and National Fire Chiefs Conventions over the years.

Delores loved spending time with, and cooking for, family and friends, especially German ancestral meals, always to rave reviews. Delores enjoyed sewing, baking, listening to Christian music, attending Bible studies. Above all, her favorite activity was reading scripture and spending time with Christian friends.

In 1974 Delores made the decision to make Jesus her Lord and Savior.  That decision gave her the assurance of salvation and the knowledge that she would have eternal life in heaven.  She grew closer to the Lord through her personal relationship with Him over the years and loved to share that experience with others.

In 2016, to be in closer proximity to her daughter, Delores moved to Jamestown to reside at the Heritage Centre.

Delores will be missed by her daughters: Sharon (Sig) Odegard of Jamestown; Bev (Bob) Hengemuhle of Racine, WI; her grandchildren: Shane Odegard of Muscatine, IA; Stacey (John) Rudolph of East Grand Forks, MN; Mike (Sarah) Hengemuhle of Leesburg, VA; Todd Hengemuhle (Lavinna) of LA Mesa, CA; Jeff (Sara) Hengemuhle of Racine, WI;  Scott (Trisha) Hengemuhle of Avon, IN; her twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews as well as her friends and church family in Dickinson.  In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Delores was preceded in death by her siblings: Caroline Binek; Genevieve Gillham; Pauline Miller; Dorothy Ficek; Frank Ihly; several nephews.
