Jamestown  (CSi)  The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to an apartment unit fire shortly after 5:30p.m., Monday.

Lt. Sheldon Mohr says, an upper floor apartment of the three level building, at 503 15th street Southeast sustained fire damage, with water damage, along with water damage to the units on the two lower levels.No injuries were reported.

The occupant of the fire unit was attended to by first responders from Jamestown Area Ambulance service but declined medical treatment.

Occupants of the 12-unit apartment building were displaced, due to high carbon monoxide levels in the building, with assistance by the American Red Cross Chapter, and others seeking other living accommodations.

Five city fire units and 29 fire fighters were on the scene over an hour.

The cause of the fire was  most probably caused by unattended cooking.
