Jamestown  (CSi) A teenager on a bike was injured after colliding with a motorist in Jamestown early Wednesday evening just after 5-p.m.

Police and ambulance crews were on scene after the individual was hit at the intersection of 2nd Avenue SE and 3rd Street SE near the Jamestown Middle School and First United Methodist Church.

Jamestown Assistant Police Chief Justin Blinsky reports, the 16 year old male bicycle rider, was taken  by Jamestown Area ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The report says,  driver of the car was traveling south on 2nd Avenue, stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded to turn right to travel west on 3rd Street.

The bike was headed on the north sidewalk of 3rd Street when it approached the intersection.

The report says the bike did not have brakes and the rider went to swerve around the car but struck the vehicle in the side.

The accident continues to be investigated by the Jamestown Police Department.
