After 25 years, William retired from the railroad. In 1937 he started farming and buying and selling cattle. In 1942 William started his own business, “Dakota Livestock”. He bought and sold cattle for more than 50 years.
William raced thoroughbreds as a hobby. He raced horses in various communities around the state and in Canada. He was an avid hunter and sportsman.
William is survived by his wife of 78 years, Lucille, Jamestown; two daughters Linda, Louisville, KY and Barbara, Keller, TX; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a son “Butch”.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 28 at Eddy Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
