Kevin Oberweiser (SR/Drummond, MT) scored 26 points to help lead the University of Jamestown men’s basketball team to an 86-76 win over Dickinson State (N.D.) University Friday night at Harold Newman Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
*Dickinson State opened the game on an 18-9 run and would lead by as many as seven (33-26) following a three-pointer from Melvin Collins at the 7:44 mark.
*The Jimmies responded with a 20-10 run to close out the half and led 46-43 at the break.
*Michael Vandall tied the game with a three-pointer to start the second half, but Oberweiser answered with a three of his own on UJ’s next possession to retake the lead.
*After Kenny Jackson scored for DSU to make it 49-48, Jamestown scored on each of its next four possessions to build a 59-50 lead.
*Brady Birch (SO/Melrose, MN) gave UJ its first double-digit lead (63-52) with a basket at the 12:30 mark
*The Blue Hawks got within five points (65-60) on a Jackson three-pointer, but a 12-2 Jimmie run over the next 5:26 extended the lead to 15 with 4:43 to play.

FOR UJ
*In addition to his 26 points, Oberweiser pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
*Jon Purintun (SR/Linton, ND) was also in double figures with 17 points, as was Brock Schrom (SO/Grand Rapids, MN) with 14.
*Birch came off the bench to add nine.
*Jack Frazier (JR/Salem, OR) made his first start of the season and contributed seven points, eight assists, and six rebounds.
*Jamestown shot 52.3% (34 for 65) from the field and outrebounded the Blue Hawks 37-32.

FOR DSU
*Jackson (23) and Melvin Collins (20) were joined in double figures by Travon Hamilton’s 17 points.
*Vandall grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
*The Blue Hawks were 10 of 27 (37%) from three-point range and 29 of 67 (43.3%) overall.
*DSU lost for the fifth time in six games.
