Jamestown  (KVLY)  – D’Marco Smith, a former teacher at Hillcrest Academy in Fergus Falls, has been charged on multiple counts including domestic violence after police say he was arrested for an altercation in Jamestown.

Police tell us, they responded to a report of an altercation on December 12th. They say after an investigation, Smith was arrested the following day. Jamestown Police tell us , he is facing charges of terrorizing, domestic violence, and felonious restraint.

According to police, Smith made threats to a victim during the fight and wouldn’t let the victim leave his presence.

Valley News Live first brought you a story about how Smith got a job at Hillcrest Academy despite pending charges against him for a different incident. School leaders say they did a background check on Smith before hiring him and it came back clean.

After finding out about Smith’s active charge, Hillcrest let him go.
