– Large blue flashes at WAPA substation

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City and Rural fire departments were called out to the WAPA Jamestown Substation, south of the State Hospital, Wednesday night just after 11-p.m. Law Enforcement Center reports of large blue flashes were seen coming from there. Video submitted by Corey Bayer.

Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther says, the Jamestown Rural Fire Department took over at the scene, with four city fire units and 24 fire fighters on the scene until 11:53 p.m. He says, maintenance work was in progress at the substation. A representative of WAPA was also on scene, to address any issues. The equipment was turned off and the fire call was made

as a precaution.
