Jamestown  (CSi)  Jamestown Assistant Police Chief, Major Justin Blinsky reports that a pursuit by law enforcement was terminated late Tuesday evening,  when it was deemed that speeds and road conditions posed safety concerns.

The report says, the scenario  began at 11:38 p.m. Tuesday when a Jamestown Police  officer attempted to stop an SUV in 300 block of Business Loop West for a traffic infraction. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and traveled south out of Jamestown on U.S. Highway 281.

The pursuit went on along  Highway 281 and Stutsman County gravel roads west of the highway.

Speeds reach up to 100 mph until it was terminated at 12:13 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Jamestown Police  was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The incident remains under investigation.
