Jamestown  (uj.edu)  The 21st-ranked University of Jamestown men’s basketball team opened up a 20-point first half lead, then shot 65 percent in the second half on the way to a 95-68 victory over Concordia (Neb.) University Saturday afternoon at Harold Newman Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
*Jon Purintun (SR/Linton, ND) scored seven of Jamestown’s first 10 points as the Jimmies opened up leads of 10-0 and 24-12 midway through the first half.
*Isaiah Dobson (JR/Stillwater, MN) gave UJ its largest lead of the first half, 15 points, with a three-pointer at the 3:50 mark.
*Brady Birch (SO/Melrose, MN) closed out the half with Jamestown’s last five points to make it a 20-point game (48-28) heading to the break.
*The Jimmies shot 17-for-26 in the second half, including 6 for 10 from three-point range.
*Concordia was only able to cut the lead down to 13 points at the 12:56 mark following Grant Wragge’s basket.

FOR UJ
*The Jimmies had two players finish with 20 or more points. Kevin Oberweiser (SR/Drummond, MT) poured in a game-high 24 and Purintun finished with 20.
*Brock Schrom (SO/Grand Rapids, MN) filled the stat sheet with 14 points, seven rebounds, and five blocked shots.
*Both Oberweiser and Purintun shot 8-of-13 from the field, with Oberweiser connecting on five three-pointers and Purintun two.
*Jamestown turned the ball over just 12 times while shooting 59.3 percent overall.

FOR CONCORDIA
*Brevin Sloup was the only Bulldog in double figures, scoring 16.
*A trio of players–Tanner Shuck, Justin Wiersema, and Sammy Adjei–all had nine points.
*Adjei also had seven rebounds.
*The Bulldogs had a three-game winning streak, their longest of the season, come to an end.
