(uj.edu) The University of Jamestown women’s basketball team turned in a dominant rebounding performance and held Mount Marty to 2-of-25 shooting from three-point range in a 58-41 win Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
*The Jimmies shot just 23.8 percent (5-of-21) in the first quarter but led 14-11 as the Lancers managed to knock down only 3 of 14 shots (21.4 percent).
*UJ pushed their lead to 11 at the break as they held Mount Marty to seven points in the quarter. Jamestown’s bench had an 8-1 scoring advantage during that time.
*Mount Marty made only one field goal in 10 third-quarter attempts to go along with a pair of free-throws for five points.
*Jamestown opened the second half with seven straight points, then used a 9-0 run late in the third to take a 25-point lead at 45-20.
*UJ led by 25 early in the fourth but the Lancers were unable to get any closer than 17 points the rest of the way.

FOR UJ
*Allison Jablonsky (JR/Blaine, Minn.) led the Jimmies with 17 points and eight rebounds. She was 5-of-10 from three-point range and converted a four-point play as well.
*Paige Schmidt (JR/Tappen, ND) added nine points and six rebounds. Noelle Josephson (FR/Ramsey, MN) grabbed seven rebounds.
*Schmidt and Emma Stoehr (SO/Woodbury, MN) each dished out three assists.
*Jamestown outrebounded Mount Marty 51-34, including 15-3 on the offensive glass.
*UJ recorded 13 steals and blocked three shots.

FOR MOUNT MARTY
*The Lancers made only two of 25 three-point attempts after hitting 16 of 32 in their previous game against the Jimmies.
*Karlee McKinney and Sammy Kasowski both had nine points.
*Mount Marty made 15 of 18 free throws.
*The Lancers shot 23.1 percent (12-of-52) for the game.

(uj.edu)  Six players scored in double figures for the 18th-ranked University of Jamestown men’s basketball team, as the Jimmies defeated Mount Marty (S.D.) College 101-74 Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
*Mount Marty took an 8-5 lead after Jailen Billings hit a three-pointer at the 16:25 mark of the first half.
*An 11-0 Jamestown run capped off by a Terrell Alfred (JR/Orlando, FL) three made it 16-8 with 13:24 to play in the first.
*The Lancers got within three points after another three by Billings, but UJ scored the next seven points to go ahead by 10.
*Five of Jamestown’s last six field goals of the half came from beyond the arc and the Jimmies led 48-27 at halftime.
*Jack Talley (SO/Sioux Falls, SD) knocked down three from downtown as he scored 11 of UJ’s first 12 second-half points. The scoring flurry gave Jamestown a 60-31 lead less than 2:15 into the second.
*Jamestown led by 30 or more on four different occasions in the second half, with 33 being their biggest lead of the night.

FOR UJ
*Jon Purintun (SR/Linton, ND) led the Jimmies with 20 points. Talley ended with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.
*Alfred, Kevin Oberweiser (SR/Drummond, MT), and Isaiah Dobson (JR/Stillwater, MN) all finished with 12, and Jack Frazier (JR/Salem, OR) chipped in with 11.
*Oberweiser added six rebounds and five assists.
*The Jimmies were 18-of-37 (48.6%) from three-point range.
*Jamestown reached the 20-win plateau for the second straight season and third time in the last five.

FOR MOUNT MARTY
*Billings had a game-high 26 points, including five three-pointers.
*Colby Johnson added 14 points and seven rebounds.
*Jason Moore came off the bench to score 13, all in the second half.
*Mount Marty lost for the seventh straight game, with five of those losses coming by 16 or more points.
