Cecelia Ann Sundeen, 81, of Cleveland, ND passed away Fri Jan 25.

Born May 5, 1937 to Sidney and Alice Murch in Fargo, ND. At age 3 they moved to a farm southwest of Jamestown, ND. She attended country school and Jamestown Public School. In 1960 she attended Josef’s Beauty School in Fargo, ND. On December 18, 1960 Cecelia married Bernard Sundeen and after several years in Jamestown made their home in Cleveland, ND. She spent her life working for others, she volunteered as a cashier at a Thrift Store in Shakopee, MN, was the President of the United Methodist Women in Cleveland, ND, was on the Pastor Parish Committee at the United Methodist Church in Cleveland, along with Secretary of the 55 Club, and Member of the VFW Auxiliary. She worked as a carhop on roller skates in Jacksonville, FL and for the Northwest Y in Jamestown, an Assistant Manager of the Star Theatre, a flag person at Northern Improvement, and at the Prairie Oasis Caf and various other jobs throughout her working life.

She was a pillar of her community and spent her life taking care of others. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She spent many hours embroidering, baby quilts and dish towels. She loved spending time outside working in her flower gardens.

She was survived by her husband of 58 years, Bernard Sundeen. Her children Rebecca (Todd Mulske) Sundeen, Cleveland; Thomas (Judy) Pfeifer, Osage, IA; Brent (Judy) Sundeen and Wade (Michele) Sundeen, Jamestown, ND; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her sister Phyllis (Edward) Hodgson, Riverdale, ND; Vonnie Ross, Grand Junction, CO; step sister, Ardelle Goff, Jamestown, ND; step brother DuWayne (Joan) Perry, Mechanicville, VA; sister-in-law Marcella Murch, Jamestown, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Everett, Sidney, and Ernie and her sisters June Myhre, Esther Dean, Joyce Telken, Betty Lou Murch and step sister Anabelle Church.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 1st at 11:00 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1000 5th Ave. NE, Jamestown, ND. Burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or Hospice. Many thanks to the fifth-floor doctors and nurses at Sanford in Fargo.
