FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks Field Manager Michael Schlacht has resigned to take a coaching job with an organization affiliated with Major League Baseball.

Schlacht was the second field manager in RedHawks’ history. He replaced longtime manager Doug Simunic, who was fired in 2017.

“Even though the timing isn’t ideal, we have begun the search to find a new manager and will have someone in place as soon as possible” according to RedHawks President and CEO Brad Thom.

The RedHawks are preparing for their 24th season in independent baseball and the ninth season in the American Association of Independent Baseball.
