Dylan Haney (SO/Brandon, Manitoba)’s third period goal gave the 17th-ranked University of Jamestown hockey team a 3-1 lead and ended up as the game-winning goal as the Jimmies defeated No. 14 Missouri State University 3-2 Friday night at Wilson Arena.

With Jamestown ahead 2-1 in the third, Haney’s 12th of season increased the lead to 3-1 at 7:33 of the period.

Missouri State drew within a goal just 58 seconds later as Brennan Anderson made it 3-2.

After a scoreless first period, the Bears got on the board at 2:54 of the second on Josh Bell’s power play goal.

Allan Pruss (JR/Red Deer, Alberta) tied the game at 13:54 of the second, then Jason Richter (JR/Cranbrook, British Columbia) made it 2-1 in favor of Jamestown at 17:27.

The Bears fired 52 shots at Jimmie goaltender Tyson Brouwer (JR/Lethbridge, Alberta), who made 50 saves. Missouri State put 40 shots on goal over the first two periods, while Jamestown managed 22. Third-period shots were even at 12 each.

Allan Pruss finished with a goal and assist, while Bryan Kromm (JR/Stockton, Calif.), Michael Pruss (JR/Red Deer, Alberta), Cole McKechney (JR/Calgary, Alberta), and Cole Sonstebo (SR/Fergus Falls, Minn. ) all picked up assists.

The Jimmies (19-12-0-1) play a home-and-home series with University of Mary next weekend. Jamestown will host the Marauders on Friday, March 1, at 7:00 p.m.
