Update…
Jamestown (CSi) Otter Tail Power Company says power was restored about 11:15 a.m. to about 1,500 customers in Southwest Jamestown. Reports of loss of power also included homes north of the Fairgrounds.
The outage that started at 10:30-a.m. affected Walmart along with Burger King and nearby businesses.
Walmart’s tills were working for cash transactions only on generator power. Walmart employees said they heard a vehicle struck a utility pole causing the outage.
Stephanie Hoff, director of public relations for Otter Tail Power Company, later Saturday confirmed that the transmission pole that was struck, was connected to an REA line part of a Central Power Electric Cooperative system, supplying electricity for Northern Plains Electric Cooperative, approximately 10 miles from Jamestown.
More information on the crash when North Dakota Highway Patrol report is available.
