LOS ANGELES (AP) – He first became known to TV audiences in the 1950s, but his gift for improvising and creating memorable characters would be enjoyed by generations of Americans. Jonathan Winters has died at his California home. He was 87. Winters was introduced to millions of new fans in 1981 on “Mork and Mindy” — playing the son of the goofball alien played by Robin Williams, who was perhaps the best known of the comedians who’d been influenced by Winters. Winters’ was the orginal voices of “Schultz & Dooley,” in the Utica Club Beer commercials.
