Dorothy Darlene Fennern was born December 22, 1934 in Jamestown, ND to August and Louise (Hoffmann) Fennern. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1953. Dorothy taught country school for one year south of Medina. In March 1954, she married Oscar Moser of Medina. They are parents of six sons and three daughters. Dorothy also shared her heart and home with many other children and provided numerous meals and a home for others.
Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church of Medina. She taught Sunday School, and served as Sunday School Superintendent, Awana leader, and Good News Club leader. As a community supporter, she was one of the first women in the Medina area to join the ambulance squad and to take EMT and ECT classes. In 2006, she was named North Dakota Mother of the Year.
Dorothy’s years were filled by serving others including, driving bus for the Medina School (over 25 years); working at Central Dakota Nursing Home; cooking at Crystal Springs Baptist Camp (35 years); co-owner and cook for Ozzie’s Cafe in Medina; and Medina Ambulance CPR Instructor and EMT (18 years).
Dorothy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband, Oscar; Nine Children, 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild.
Memorials may be given to Crystal Springs Baptist Camp or McCoy Ministries.
